LiveRamp CEO Scott Howe said the deal will help LiveRamp scale and grow partnerships with the cloud companies and platforms that Habu works with — like Google, Meta, and Disney. Spent coffee grounds could make concrete stronger

CNN —If your morning can’t start without coffee, you’re not alone: globally, we drink over 2 billion cups of coffee each day, leading to 60 million tons of wet, spent coffee grounds every year. There, like other organic compounds, coffee grounds decompose and release methane, a greenhouse gas 25 times more powerful than carbon dioxide at trapping heat. Now, researchers say coffee grounds could be used as an ingredient in concrete, and they could even make it stronger, according to a recent study. When the biochar is mixed with concrete, Roychand says, its particles act like tiny water reservoirs, distributed throughout the concrete. Roychad points out that waste collection is already mainstream, and that a number of companies in Australia are focusing on recycling coffee waste.

BOSTON (AP) — Police in Massachusetts said Thursday that they are pursuing assault and battery and disorderly conduct charges against three Rhode Island men in the recent death of a fan at a New England Patriots game. Police didn't name the men or say when a probable cause hearing about the charges might happen. The final cause of death remains undetermined, pending additional tests by the chief medical examiner's office. Joey Kilmartin, who was at the game, said he saw Mooney, a Patriots fan, jawing with another fan. Mooney walked over to the fan and they began to tussle.

The loss of the cookie and other ways to identify people online has caused ad revenue to crater. "Too soon to say, but the platforms don't like it," said David Temkin, a Google executive who focuses on ads privacy. "Clean rooms we think are promising because they can respect user privacy," Temkin said. He notes that clean rooms can be slow and expensive. The prevalence of retail media already jumpstarted the need for clean rooms in 2022, said Scott Howe, CEO of LiveRamp, which provides clean rooms and identifiers.
